Introduction
Mining cables must withstand extreme conditions including mechanical stress, moisture, chemicals, abrasion, and frequent movement. The AS/NZS standards provide comprehensive specifications for mining cables used throughout Australia and New Zealand, ensuring they meet stringent safety and performance requirements.
These cables are designed for use in surface and underground mines, quarries, and other harsh industrial environments where standard cables would quickly fail. They feature enhanced mechanical protection, flame-retardant properties, and resistance to oils, chemicals, and environmental factors.
FeiChun Cables specializes in the manufacturing of high-quality mining power cable, mining trailing cable, and a comprehensive range of mining cables including reeling cables and mine power cables. Our mining cables are used worldwide in indoor, outdoor and subsea environments, in normal and harsh environments, normal and extreme weather and temperatures.

Every product we manufacture complies with Australian standards and is durability tested to withstand the extreme conditions found in Australia’s underground and open pit mines.

When it comes to the demanding environment of the mining industry, selecting the right cable is crucial. Feichun Cable offers Australian standard mining cables known for their superior quality and performance, providing reliable solutions for global mining customers.

type 2s
Type 209:
Type 209 series cable is mainly used as a flexible feeder to machinery, more suitable as a trailing cable rather than for reeling. Smaller cables are used for drills and hand held tools and equipment.
Type 210:
These cables are mainly used for hand-held boring machines and drills.
Type 240:
These cables are mainly used as feeder cables for power supply to machinery or longwall supply. Cable contains 3 large pilots and large Core Screens provide for low resistance earthing.
Type 241:
These cables are designed for various uses, including main feeder cable for continuous miners, pump cable, and power supply cable. Overall semiconducttve screen provides protecttve earth contact for any object breaching the sheath prior to contact with power conductors.
Type 245:
These very ffexible cables are mainly used as longwall shearer cables, and also for conttnuous miners and peripheral longwall cables. Cable has 3 central pilots for earth conttnuity monitoring and for control circuits.
Type 260:
These armoured cables are mainly used as feeder cables for power supply where mechanical protectton and strength is required, and also can be the feeder to machinery and i.e. transportable mining substatton (sand mining).
Type 275:
These cables are mainly used as a ffexible feeder for shuttle cars and pump. Earth cores designed to reduce instances of wire breaks during reeling while under tension.
Type 409:
Type 409 series cable is mainly used as a flexible feeder to machinery, more suitable as a trailing cable rather than for reeling. Smaller cables are used for drills and hand held tools and equipment, while larger ones are used for power supply to draglines, shovels and drills.
Type 412:
These cables with green/yellow earths and pliable armour for mechanical protection may be used in applications where damage is likely and armour can reduce cases of costly downtime, suitable installed as feeder cables in sand mining operattons.
Type 440:
These cables are mainly used as flexible feeder trailing cables for power supply to machinery and equipment, include 3 large pilots and a central semiconductive cradle for support and protection of power cores.
Type 441:
Type 441 Class 2 cables are designed for many uses, suitable for trailing and also suitable for reeling applicattons, have one central pilot and a semiconducttve cradle supporttng and protecttng the power cores, which makes these cables less likely to be damaged from crushing and squashing.
Type 441 Class 1 series cable has lower insulatton and sheath radials than Class 2 cables, designed for many uses, suitable for trailing and also suitable for reeling applicattons, have one central pilot and a semiconducttve cradle supporttng and protecttng the power cores, which makes these cables less likely to be damaged from crushing and squashing.
Type 450:
These cables are suitable for supply of power to a wide range of applicattons, from dragline cable to slow reeling applicattons, where copper screened cable is required but light weight and smaller dimensions are also desired.
Type 455:
These cables are designed with reduced insulatton and sheath thickness, no cradle, 2 earth and 1 pilot core (each earth and pilot are the same size) in the outer intersttces. These cables are suitable for reeling and trailing applicattons where minimal diameter and mass is desired, parttcularly suited to stacker-reclaimer applicattons.
Type 2S:
Type 2S cables are specialized double-sheathed mining cables designed for the most demanding mining applications.
